The In-Game Profile: Nian Gengrao was a general who grew increasingly arrogant. Kangxi regonized a young Nian's talent and made an unprecedented expection when promoting him to the post of Border Pacification General-in-chief before he was 30. Nian didn't let Kangxi down, as he implemented many beneficial measures while winning battles in the emperor's name. The trust in him rose to new heights during Yongzheng's reign, which went to Nian's head and he started abusing his power, even flaunting it in the emperor's presence. This infuriated many statesmen, eventually leading to the emperor charging him with 92 transgressions and 'granting' him the privilege of committing suicide in prison.
