Story[]
Joan of Arc was a tragic miracle of war. A gentle lass from Orleans and a national hero of France, she claimed to be on a mission from God to defend the country and repel all enemies. However, she was persecuted for the belief while her detractors accused her of blasphemy. She stunned everyone at the trial with the quote, "If I am not in the state of grace, may God put me there; and if I am, may God keep me." However, the oppressive regime still sentenced her to burn at the stake. She was not absolved until the end of the war, and by then, this saint of a woman had long been silenced and sent to the bottom of the Seine River.
